Did You Know You Could Get Paid for Your Disability If It Is Keeping You Out of Work?

Experienced Disability Lawyers In Your State!

If you become incapacitated or disabled and lose your ability to work, you will need money to help pay for your day-to-day expenses, medical care, and help you maintain a comfortable standard of living.

Some people purchase a disability insurance policy, which may help in replacing your monthly income during the period you are disabled or until the end of a pre-defined benefit period.

But, did you know that disabled workers who cannot afford to purchase a disability insurance policy from a private company may be eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)?

Don’t suffer in silence; see if you are eligible today. You may qualify to receive up to $3,000 per month!

WHAT Is SSDI?

The Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a payroll and tax-funded federal insurance benefits program administered and managed by the U.S Social Security Administration.

The primary purpose of the program is to provide aid to individuals who cannot maintain gainful employment due to a severe and permanent medical condition.

SSDI pays benefits to the affected member and some members of their family if they are also “insured.”

In this case, the term “insured” means you have been in employment long enough to achieve sufficient work credits.

You must also qualify as disabled according to the definition provided by the Social Security Administration to qualify for the benefits.

According to SSA, one is considered disabled if he/she can no longer perform the work they did before their disability, and if you cannot shift to other gainful employment due to the disability.

The disability should also keep you out of work for at least one year or result in death.

How Do I Qualify for Disability?

Both American citizens and legal residents can qualify for disability benefits.

One must meet the following conditions to qualify for disability:

  • You must be between 18 and 64 years old
  • You are unable to maintain any gainful employment
  • You have worked for at least five of the last ten years, and you have been paying social security tax
  • You are not receiving any other benefits from the Social  Security Administration
  • You have not been denied disability benefits in the past 60 days
  • Your disability is expected to last for at least one year or may result in death
  • You can provide medical evidence to support your claim
  • You have other special situations such blindness/low vision, have a disabled child, or you are a disabled veteran.
